    Renewable Heat Incentive

The bottom line when it comes to renewable energy is that it is renewable! This is great for our planet as it means it will last a life time and will never run out. By using a sustainable form of energy sources of energy it means it reduces the use of other materials like coal, oil and gas that are limited and will run out some day.

Renewable energy is more popular than ever as it is reducing our dependence on fuels. Renewable energy is truly amazing as it simply relies on strong winds, heat within earth, moving water, shining sun can provide a vast and constant energy resource supply.

Renewable energy is clean and will make an amazing difference on the damage that non-renewable sources have made on our environment and in fact it results in little to no greenhouse and net carbon emissions.

The eco-friendly advantages of renewable energy are innovative in that they will radically scale back on the amount of toxic air pollution which is being released into the atmosphere by methods which are not environmentally sustainable.

If you are interested in becoming more environmentally friendly. The RHI scheme which is ran by the UK government is a great place to start. There are two types of Renewable Heat Incentive, which offer separate rules, tariffs and application processes.

Domestic Daikin Air Source Heat Pumps

Launched in 2014, the domestic RHI offers a financial incentive over seven years to the household or property owners where a renewable heating system is installed. The government are rewarding home owners for producing, clean renewable energy.

A domestic property is classed as domestic if it heats only a single property which can earn a domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

EPC evidence is required when applying for the RHI. The EPC gives the governing bodies of the RHI information about the property’s energy use and recommendations on how the property can reduce their energy consumption.

Non-Domestic Daikin Air Source Heat Pumps

    • MCS installation certificate number for the heating system
    • Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) number
    • Bank details

Take note that when a ground or heat source air pump is in a commercial, public or industrial place the non-domestic RHI must be applied for.

There are so many benefits of renewable energy and lots of non-domestic businesses are investing in new technology which is making their business more sustainable. Premises that would apply for the non-domestic RHI include private businesses, both large and small public sector organisations like schools and hospitals.

    Renewable Energy Predictions

Heat pumps are renewable as they the heat naturally flows from a warm location to a cooler one.  Heat Pumps Scotland’s systems are installed by us use a specially created fluid that evaporates and condenses in a constant cycle in a closed circuit controlled by valves and a compressor to reverse this flow

    • By 2020 the UK’s target is to achieve 15% of final energy consumption from renewable sources.
    • By 2040, zero-emission energy sources will make up 60% of installed capacity.
    • Wind and solar will account for 64% of the 8.6TW of new power generating capacity added worldwide over the next 25 years.
    • Some energy experts have also projected that 80-100% of the world will run sustainable energy by 2050.
